Adventure Kids Camp is in its third year! This is our Memorial Day Week Camp for all children ages 6-11. This year our theme is Exploring the Natural World.
Campers will rotate through three stations each day:
Nature Adventure - Camper favorite Mr. Evan O'Donnell is leading this group into the wild to learn plant identification, water testing and purification, and emergency wilderness medicine.
Adventures in Science - Local teaching hero, Isabel McLemore, will be leading campers through a series of critical thinking experiments and activities in this rotation, where the process is exciting and often messy!
Place-Based Adventure - Campers will be led by Alison Buehler through navigation, cooking and local food, and "adventure obstacles".
This camp is Tuesday - Thursday from 8am-4pm
Campers will swim WITH AN ADULT CHAPERONE from 3-4pm. Parents may partner with another parent to watch kids, but no more than three children to one parent.
*If you cannot find a partner or be on site to watch your child by 3pm, please do not sign up. We do not feel comfortable telling a child they have to sit out.
7:45-8am Drop off - Campers put their lunches in the fridge and put their extra clothes away.
8-8:45 Big Group Songs and Activities
8:45-10 Rotation 1
10:30-11:45 Rotation 2
11:45-12:45 Lunch and Games

3-4pm Swimming with chaperone
All campers must be off the premises by 4:10 so that we can get ready for the next day.
Parent Comments from Past Camps
Your camp was awesome!! It was full of learning skills and made everything seem adventurous and excitingly fun. Your camp made them use their creativity and skills to work together to make things using the outdoors. Anders cannot wait to see what will happen this summer in camp! Thank you! - Rosie Oppedal
Last year was our first experience with camp, and my boys have been talking about it all year long. It was a wonderful week of giving them the chance to try new things, get dirty and explore their curiosity and creativity outdoors. We can't wait to come back this year! - Haley Higgenbotham
Dangerous Camp for Boys was everything I hoped it would be for my boys. The adventures experienced during camp helped each develop confidence as they tried new things. Both truly believe they could survive in the wilderness now! This mama is just happy the Homestead has programs to keep our youth engaged with nature and the dying art of outside play. - Cat Walker
